Wet on Wet Heart Painting
Feb 06, 2017Here at the studio this technique is a crowd favorite! Wet on Wet!!!
Supplies:
Watercolor Paper ( this is a must.. don't try to use cardstock or copy paper.. it just won't work)
Liquid Watercolor ( you can use regular watercolor but the liquid watercolor is just so much more vibrant. Michael's sells Artist Loft brand for about $5 per bottle.)
Watercolor Brush
1. Using a wet brush "draw" the shape of the heart on your watercolor paper.
2. Then continue filling the shape with water. You want it to be good and wet! The wetter the better.
3. Next you will dip your brush into the liquid watercolor and just kinda "dab" the color in. At this point you should see the color exploding! It will move around in the water but it won't go outside of the heart shape. It only goes where you put the water.
4. Add in your next color!
5. Continue until you like it. Just be sure to not add so many colors that it all mushes together and becomes brown!
Have fun with this one!!! We'd love for you to post your creations!!!
