How to use Watercolor Pencils!
Nov 10, 2021
Did you catch us when we were on the Crayola page? Every single Friday, we are on the Crayola page showing you some fun ways, using simple supplies, to create some awesome art. In this video we show you, not only how to draw this super cute truck with pumpkins, but also how to use watercolor pencils.
For this project, you will need: Watercolor Paper, Crayola Watercolor Colored Pencils, a pencil and an eraser, a black permanent marker, a cup of water, and a small watercolor paint brush.
Step One: Draw the truck with the pumpkins in the back. Be sure to watch the video to see how to do this step by step.
Step 2: Outline with your black permanent marker.
Step 3: Start to layer in your colored pencils (watch the video to see how we do it)
Step 4: Dip your paintbrush into some water and then apply the water to the areas you colored with your watercolor pencils. You’ll start to see the pencil color turn to watercolors right before your eyes! It’s a super cool effect that I think you’re going to love!
If you have a creative kid that loved this project, they’ll probably love our Kids Club too! In the kid’s club, we explore all types of mediums. We learn about different artists every month, plus we send happy mail straight to your door so they can get a fun surprise every single month. Be sure to check it out below!
